Smoke soot on glass
Print from cliche verre using smoke soot and live cats (no animams were harmed in the making of this image)
I generally use this smoked glass process with plant material to make impressions and marks, capturing natures shapes and forms. I print directly from or digitally photograph each plate after which the plate is wiped clean and ready to make a new print. While it is a monochrome process the smoke produces subtle brown tones which can be enhanced in post production to add red and brown colours into the work.
